About Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a small country situated in Central America, bounded on the north by Nicaragua and Panama to the southeast. Its territory is bordered on the east by the Caribbean Sea and west by the Pacific Ocean. Its political and economical center is located in San José, the capital city.
This territory is characterized by friendly people and the “Pura Vida” greeting.
Our numerous ecological features catch the attention of many people from all over the world and there are several attractions such as beaches and volcanoes about 2-3 hours away.
Weather
Costa Rica has nice weather all over the year and the diversity of environments is determined by the different climates each region has.
We have a rainy season and a summer season.
The temperatures are very stable along the year although the altitude is one of the factors that determine the temperature:
Below 800m conditions are given by temperatures between 25ºC and 32ºC (77 ºF-89.6 ºF)
From 800m to 2500m the temperatures goes from 14ºC to 25ºC (57.2 ºF-77 ºF)
Beyond 2500m, it is below 14 ºC (57.2 ºF)
Flora and Fauna
Costa Rica is characterized by its diversity and the maritime width surface given because of the Coco’s Island location. Known as the America’s Bridge, we have the pleasure to hold a very rich variety of animals and plants.
The environmental politics of protected areas, limited hunting and reforestation helps the country to preserve its ecological flag over seas.
