NeTropica and the Conference organizing committee would like to extend you an invitation to participate in the V Biennial NeTropica Meeting: “NeTropica, 10 years of promoting collaborative research on Tropical and Neglected Diseases”. The Biennial is scheduled for 1-3 November, 2009 and will be hosted at the Hotel Punta Leona located in the Central Pacific Coast, Costa Rica.
The purpose of this meeting is to promote science in and for Central America, with the participation of many distinguished scientists from different parts of the world. The conference will not only include formal presentations but also will have a strong emphasis on forms of intensive intellectual exchange.

We encourage your participation in this Biennial and to become part of our tradition.

Topics being discussed include:

1. Genomics and proteomics of infectious and neglected diseases
2. Satellite monitoring of zoonosis
3. Strategies to control Chagas disease
4. Tuberculosis
5. Snakebite envenomation
6. Modulation of immune responses by intracellular pathogens
7. Etiology and control of infectious diarrheas
8. Mechanism of action of bacterial toxins
9. Blood and arthropod transmitted viral infections.
