MASTER DEGREE

AVAILABLE TO full time students IN MSc training WITHIN CENTRAL AMERICA in the fieldS of tropical diseases and biology of infections

This stipend is valid only for full time Master Degree students from Central America that have no other involvements in projects or activities that generate salaries for them. The Master Degree Program should take place within Central America and must be registered with the NeTropica program. The maximum length of study is two and a half years.

Eligible applicants:

• Nationals and permanent residents from Central America.
• However permanent residents of the country that the MSc is taking place cannot apply.

WHAT DOES NeTropica OFFER?

1) A $500 monthly stipend for a maximum of 2.5 years period.
This stipend is expected to cover:

• Hosting
• Daily Expenses of the student

2) One round trip ticket from the country of origin of the candidate to the country of the Master Program.  

 

WHAT ARE THE STUDENT REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS FELLOWSHIP?

• Applicants for full time fellowships should be nationals and residents from a Central American country. However permanent residents of the country that the MSc is taking place cannot apply.
• The Master Program must be registered with NeTropica.
• Applicants must have started the enrolment procedure to the Master Degree. 
• Applicants must have a fair knowledge of English. 
• Priority will be given to applicants bellow 35 years old. In extraordinary cases applicants above 35 years old will be considered, but not exceeding 40 years old.   
• Once the fellowship is granted accepted students will sign a contract with NeTropica.  

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE FELLOWSHIP?

1. Complete the online Application Form below. (click here)
2. For an application to be considered the candidate must send in one package by regular mail the following documents:

1. Printed copy of the online application form.
2. Copy of the submitted application form to the Master Degree program.
3. One letter by the Master Degree supervisor of the candidate, stating the subject of the candidate’s research and the expected studying period.
4. Two General Recommendation Letters.

The application form should be written in English

WHERE AND WHEN TO SEND THE APPLICATION FOR THE FELLOWSHIP?

• There are no positions available for 2009.
• Applications will be valued as they come in.
• Candidates are urged to apply as positions will be filled until all funds are disbursed.
• The candidates will be informed by letter within one month of the application.
