The NeTropica Network seeks to promote joint research in biomedical sciences, particularly in the field of tropical diseases, through its academic activities. This network, sought to involve PROINNOVA in its organization in order to support its collaborators in the field of Intellectual Property (IP).

The role of PROINNOVA workshop within this initiative is to serve as a direct consulting source for guidance in topics and procedures related to IP. Activities planned and coordinated by NeTropica and PROINNOVA consist in a course (
I3) that includes topics such as: Innovation, Commercial Scientific and Technological intelligence, Intellectual property protection forms and Technology licensing.

Course Content

Eligible applicants: Nationals and permanent residents from Central America.

WHO IS PROINNOVA?

PROINNOVA is the office within the University of Costa Rica (UCR) in charge of the management and transfer of knowledge for innovation. Thus, PROINNOVA would advise in fields related to IP and support, through learning programs, as well as assisting other universities in Central America in such fields as innovation, technology transfer and IP.

FELLOWSHIPS:

 

A total of (15) fellowships are available that will cover the following expenses during the period of the Workshop.

  • Registration Fee

  • Transportation from and to the Central American country of origin

  • Hosting

  • Meals

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS FELLOWSHIP?

 

  1. Applicants should be from a Central American country.  

  2. Applicants should currently be attached to a Central American Laboratory.

  3. Applicants should have a fair knowledge of English.

  4. Applicants preferably should have at minimum a Master Degree or at least be part of a MSc program.

  5. Applicants should be scientifically active.
